Billy Wayne Essex

Billy Wayne Essex, age 92 of Morgan, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his residence in Morgan under Hospice care. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Cemetery 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134 . A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Billy was born May 25, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Albert Leon Sr. and Audrey Lee (Endsley) Essex. He married the love of his life Ernestine (King) Essex. . Billy loved fishing, hunting, and was involved in his church and masons.  He worked for the Bureau of Prisons where he was a P.A. and later retired after 23 years of employment.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Thomas Essex Sr. and Mrs. Audrey Lee Essex; his brothers, Mr. Albert Leon Essex and Mr. Thomas Leon Essex Jr., and sister, Audrey Marie Hubbard.

Billy is survived by his wife Ernestine; children, Mr. Jerroll Wayne Essex and Ms. Carol McFaddin; sister, Francis Jeanetta Flynn; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
