Billy Wayne Huse, 84, of Hillsboro, TX, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024. Billy was born July 3, 1940, in Longview, TX, to Ota and Christelle Huse. Billy spent much of his childhood playing dominoes with his family and taught his love of the game to his two sons, Wayne Huse and Bryan Huse, and his grandchildren, Clint Huse and Toni Cartwright. On January 30, 1959, Billy married the love of his life, Barbara, and the two were happily married until she passed away in 2015. Billy was blessed and able to retire at a young age and spend his time with family and friends in Laguna Park, TX. Billy and Barbara enjoyed cooking and hosting parties for their community and family. Billy spent his adult life devoted to his family and helping others learn his passion for Masonic Work. Billy was not only a Mason but a Member of Chapter and Council, Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, Knights Templar, and The Odd Fellows Lodge.
Throughout the many years of his dedication to these organizations, Billy earned many distinct titles and awards.
Past Master of Landmark #1168 as well as Past Master of every Blue Lodge in Masonic District 62. He received Golden Trowel awards from Landmark Lodge #1168 in 1994 and from Hillsboro Lodge #196 in 2017. Billy was presented his 60 Year service award in Whitney Lodge #355
He had the honor and privilege to serve as the DDGM for District 14-C from 12/1/1970 – 11/30/1971and has as the District Instructor for District 62 from 12/05/2009 – 1/18/2019
Billy was also active in the Chapter and Council serving as the T.I.M for Love Field Council 396 in 1969 and represented District #51B as the District Deputy Grand Master in 1976. T.I.M for Hillsboro Council 94 in 2015.
High Priest for Love Field Chapter 478 in 1970 and represented District #51B as the District Deputy Grand High Priest in 1979. High priest for Hillsboro Chapter152 in 2015.
Billy earned a Lifetime membership in Hella Shrine in 1971 by bringing in over 30 new members
Billy received the Order of the Temple (Knighted) on 11/1/1969 and earned his 50-year membership on 2/6/2019 while at 82-Tancred. Billy was also an Endowed member of 39-Hillsboro.
Billy was also active in the Order of the Eastern Star where he served as Worthy Patron for Loyal Chapter in Oak Cliff and was currently a member of both Whitney #930 and Hillsboro #769.
Billy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ota and Christelle, caring brother, Ota, loving wife, Barbara, and dedicated great-grandson, Lane Cartwright. Billy is survived by his son Wayne Huse and wife Olivia, son Bryan Huse, grandson Clint Huse and wife Allison, granddaughter Toni Cartwright and husband Kenneth, and great-granddaughters Taylor Huse, Rylee Huse, and Sadie Cartwright. Billy was a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and was loved by his entire family.
Funeral services will be September 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro Texas with Masonic Graveside Services following at Everman Cemetery on Enon Road in Everman Texas and will be presided over by:
