Billy Meyers

Billy Norman Meyers, 83, of Whitney, passed away on October 16, 2018, in Waco. A graveside service under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Peoria Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Cathey officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Billy was born on June 28, 1935, in Hillsboro, to Norman and Lillie (McConathy) Myers. He enjoyed fishing and dancing on the weekends, playing poker and dominos. Billy retired after 22 years of service to his country in the United States Navy. After his military service, he began a second career driving trucks for various businesses until a second retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister, Barbara Nell Myers.

Survivors include his sisters, Betty Jean Moore and husband, Finis, of Hillsboro, Darlene Lee of the Colony and Carol Ann Cox of Whitney; longtime friend, JoAnn Alexander of Waco and her children, Billy, Bobby, Tommy, Danny and Jimmy Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.
