Billy Marshall Phillips

Billy Marshall Phillips, 93, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Homestead Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating.

Billy was born April 7, 1929, in Hillsboro, TX, to Charles Lawrence and Zella Lavonia (Northen) Phillips.  He attended schools in Hillsboro and was a graduate of Hillsboro High School.  Billy went on to obtain a degree from North Texas University.  While attending NTU, he was a member of the Lamda Chi Alpha.

From January 1, 1951, until he was honorably discharged on February 5, 1953, Billy served his country in the United States Army in Fort Lee, VA.  Following his military service, he worked as an accounting manager for the Mobil Oil Corporation until his retirement.

Billy was a member of First Church of The Nazarene in Hillsboro and also attended Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, John Phillips, T. J. Phillips, and Doyle Phillips; and three sisters, Alta Elliott, Leta Mead, and Opal Maxwell.

Survivors include his special friends, Ronald and Kim Falkner.
