Billy Edward Sexton

Billy Edward Sexton, 79, of Aquilla, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022.  A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Marshall and Marshal Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.  Burial with military honors by the United States Coast Guard, will take place at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 South Mary Street, Arlington, Texas 76010.

Billy was born in Prosper, Texas on October 22, 1942, to Arvil Edward Sexton and Mildred Lois (Row) Waldrip and grew up in the Fort Worth area.  He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from December 16, 1960, until he was honorably discharged on January 8, 1964.  Billy was united in marriage to Linda Snow on June 11, 1965, in Arlington, Texas.  He worked for thirty-four years at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Arlington until he retired in 1995.  After retiring from GM, he worked for Lowes’s, driving a delivery truck.  In 2002, he and Linda moved to Aquilla, Texas, where he drove a school bus for Aquilla ISD.  Billy enjoyed doing mechanic work and could fix anything.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger days.  In his spare time, he did woodworking.  Billy loved Aquilla and being part of the community.  He was a member of the Aquilla Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his father, Arvil Edward Sexton; his brother, Bobby Sexton; his grandson, John Mark Manning; and his son-in-law, Doug Manning, Billy is survived by his wife, Linda Sexton; his mother, Lois Waldrip; his children, Annette Manning and Mark Sexton and his wife, Lee Anne; his brother, Dennis Waldrip; his grandchildren, Megan Ray and her husband, Jaron, Samuel Manning, and Havin Manning; and five great-grandchildren.
