Blaine Glenn Green, 81, of Covington, Texas passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his residence. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021, with President Tom Killebrew officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Blaine was born on December 27, 1939, in Menan, Idaho to Glenn and Esther (Billman) Green.

Blaine was raised in the farming community of Menan, Idaho. He first learned to drive a truck at the tender age of 8 while helping his family in the farm fields.  He is a graduate of Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho.  He and his wife, Irma, moved to Texas in 1988 and have considered it home ever since.

He had many careers including journeyman meat-cutter, sewing machine repairman, and retired as Division Manager from Monolithic Equipment Manufacturing.  He made lasting friendships every place he worked.

Blaine claimed to be a jack-of-all-trades but master of none.  His family would disagree!  He could, and frequently did, fix anything.  Even in the last week of life his grandson insisted on bringing a toy for Grandpa to repair.  He loved to work with leather, metal, and wood.  He was also gifted at sewing...usually without even using a pattern.  He loved living in the country.  Over the years he raised just about every kind of farm animal, but he loved chickens best.

He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many positions over the years.  He and Irma served two full-time missions for their church.  The first mission was in the West Indies, primarily on the island of Trinidad.  The second mission was the Tallahassee, Florida mission, but primarily in Mississippi.  Blaine had a deep love of the scriptures and began each morning reading them.  He said that every problem in life could be solved by turning to the scriptures, the Savior, and then applying some elbow grease.

Blaine's life was a life of service.  Anyone who knew him would attest to that.  He believed that the best way to solve what ails the soul and world is to serve our fellowman.  And he did just that.  In the final weeks of his life, he and Irma's house was a revolving door of people coming to share their love and appreciation for Blaine.

Blaine departed this life with his eternal mate, Irma, kneeling by his side holding his hand.

Blaine is preceded in death by, his father, Glenn Gilbert Green; his mother, Esther Billman Green; sisters, Sheila Green Lowder and Janeal Green Marchant; and grandchild, Nickolas Benson Glenn.

He is survived by his wife, Irma Mary Hoke Green of Covington, TX; sister, Mickie Green Lundholm and Carl of Hamer, ID; daughter, Neta Jo Green Krieger and Jim of Williston, ND;  daughter, Tracie Marie Green of Columbus, MT; son, David Blaine Green and Julie of Billings, MT; son, Gregory G.
