Bob Ralph Wooldridge, 91, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
Bob was born June 17, 1921 in Gainesville. He grew up in the west Love Field area of Dallas, attending Crozier Tech High School. He married LaFrey Keathley and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
His first daughter, LaDena Rae, was born in 1943. A son, Richard Keathley (Keath) followed in 1948 and Teresa Ann came along in 1950. (Terri passed in 1999).
After the war, Bob worked for A&P Grocers and was an airplane mechanic for Braniff. He began his career with Continental Baking Company as a route man, delivering Hostess cakes and retired as a regional sales manager in 1983.
Bob enjoyed skiing, golfing and was a fantastic dancer. In 1975, he and LaFrey bought their first Airstream. Many happy years were spent traveling the U.S. and they loved serving as volunteers in state and national parks.
Bob and LaFrey belonged to First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro and he was a founding member of the Airstream community in Hillsboro. He lived there until 2011, when he joined LaFrey in residence at Town Hall Estates nursing facility.
His beloved wife of 70 years preceded him in death in July of last year and Bob passed away on April 13, 2013. Survivors included his daughter, LaDena Humphries; son, Keath Wooldridge; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
