Bobbie Sawyer

Bobbie Sawyer of Whitney passed away on March 3, 2011.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bobbie was born March 17, 1929 in Axtell, the daughter of John Robert and Dimple Violet Strickland Magee. A resident of Whitney since 1972, she was known as Granny and Mom to not only her family but also to all of her childrens and grandchildrens friends as well. She loved being outside enjoying her yard. When she was younger, she also enjoyed fishing. More recently she loved to follow the Baylor University Lady Bears. Bobbie was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her husband of many years, Bill; daughter, Ruthie Jones and husband Jimmy of Blum, son, Mike Sawyer of Whitney; daughter-in-law, Patricia Sawyer of Whitney; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Bailey and husband Chris of Grandview, Erik Montes and wife Lacey of Whitney, Tiffany Sawyer of Whitney, Jacob Sawyer of Waco; 3 great grandchildren, Sydney Bailey, Jordan Montes, Ally Montes; numerous nieces and nephews.
