Bobby Hester

Bobby Ray Hester, 64, of Marshall, formally of Hillsboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at his home in Marshall. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Dr. Carl Jennings of First Baptist Church of Whitney officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Bobby was born February 23, 1953 in Hillsboro to Harold and Helen (Finch) Hester of Itasca. On December 17, 1982, he married the love of his life, best friend, and soul mate, Linda Wood Hester. The couple moved from Hillsboro to Marshall in 1991, where he farmed and ranched for the past 26 years. Bobby was the kind of man that would help you in anyway he could and give you the shirt off his back. He was a beloved and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, friend, and special neighbor.

Preceding him in death were his parents and father-in-law, Jerry M. Wood.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Wood Hester of Marshall; two daughters, LeAnn Hodges of Arlington and Angel Hester Parsons and husband, Mark, of Itasca; son, Ricky Brown of Longview; devoted companions, Little Man and Ms. Kitty; three grandchildren, Sydnee Hodges, Cash Parsons, and Cooper Parsons; three sisters, Sandra Tanner of Irving, Marilyn Hawkins and husband, Ken, of Burleson, and Bettye Maroone and husband, Clay, of Fort Worth; two brothers, Michael Hester and wife, Donna, of Fort Worth and Danny Hester and wife, Ronda, of Hillsboro; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family members, and treasured friends.
