Bobby Messer, 76, of Whitney, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney. The family will have a memorial service at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Prairie Valley Baptist Church in Whitney.
Bobby was born on January 13, 1939, in Bell County, to Raymond and Leona (Sissom) Messer. He graduated from Temple High School in 1957 and attended Temple College. He had lived in Whitney for the past 22 years. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Bobby would sing any place, anytime and every chance that he could. He sang gospel music at his church, Prairie Valley Baptist Church, and at many other churches in the area.
Suvivors include his ex-wife and best friend, Bonnie; sons, Reck, Brett, David and Patrick Messer; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond and Bill Messer; sister Patty Rhodes and husband, Dusty; and many nieces and nephews.
