Bobbye June Jones was born in Hillsboro on May 18, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Earl R. Cunningham and Lucy Jordan Cunningham of Hillsboro. Bobbye was the last of eight children. She attended school in Hillsboro, and on June 6, 1954, she married Bobby D. Jones. He was in the military in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the time of their union, and the couple resided there until January 1956. While there, Bobbye accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior. Following her salvation, she read the Bible from cover to cover in one year. Also while in Fort Smith, her oldest son was born at the military hospital. Bobbye and her family moved back to Hillsboro for a short time before a year-and-a-half stint in Fort Worth. While there, she worked for Lone Star Gas. In 1958, the family moved back to Hillsboro where she spent the rest of her life. In her early years, she worked for Avon to stay home and take care of her four children. Bobbye placed a very high emphasis on teaching them to love the Lord. Later, she worked at J.C. Penney, Saybrook and Anthonys. After her spiritual conversion in 1955, she felt the calling of God to become a Bible teacher, and from that point on, she always maintained her calling. Also for 30 years, she and her husband spent time offering Christian counseling services to those in need. At the former Gospel Center Christian Academy, Bobbye taught Bible to the students each day for over two years. She was an early member of Aglow Ministries in Hillsboro, where she led singing from time to time. She was very musically talented, teaching several people to play the piano and guitar over the course of her life. Bobbye and her husband enjoyed traveling. The couple visited Europe, Canada, Mexico and traveled the United States frequently.

Her love of life began with the Lord Jesus, her husband and family second. Bobbye had ten grandchildren, all of which she was extremely proud of. In the late years of her life, a great-granddaughter was born, and she thanked God for giving her a late blessing in life. In 2009, a recreance of breast cancer that she had 30 years before began to restrict her physically. In the early part of 2015, she had the privilege of speaking to the congregation at Grace City Church.

Bobbye is survived by her husband, Bob; her sons, Bob, Jr. of Mansfield and Steven and wife, Mary, of Arlington; daughters, Suzy Dibbern and husband, Bob, of Allen and Terri Lloyd and husband, Larry, of Hillsboro. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren including Stefan Lloyd and wife, Lauren, Jordan Haney and husband, Shane, Cherri Lloyd, Sara Jones, Anna Goetsch and husband, Jonathan, Rachael Jones, Rebecca Jones, Nick Silva, Megan Dibbern and Jon Dibbern; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Lloyd. She also left three sisters, Mary Dorsey and husband, Elton, of Fort Worth, Katy Wingate of Fort Worth, and Martha Burrow of Premont. She also has several surviving nieces and nephews.
