Bonnie Stephens

Bonnie Stephens, 80 of Whitney, passed away on May 7, 2017, at her residence. A graveside service, under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Whitney Memorial Park with Dr. Allan Lane, officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the funeral home.

Bonnie was born on October 10, 1936, to Clarence and Ruby (Barker) Castleberry and grew up in Wyoming and Washington state and moved to Whitney in 1961. She enjoyed helping everyone and her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney. She worked as manager of the Thrifty Nickel for several years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ray Samford and husband Herrin Stephens; and son, David Samford.

Survivors include children, Melinda Ward of Whitney, Olan Samford, Jr and wife, Bettie of Hewitt and Billy Samford and wife, Angela of Saltillo, Mississippi; and four sisters.
