Brenda Moreno, 62, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waxahachie. No memorial services are scheduled.
Born April 18, 1952 in Westover, Alabama, she was the daughter of Leonard Philmore and Ola Jean (Weathers) Hamm. In 1957, she moved with her family to Texas and they settled in Hillsboro in 1963. She was a 1972 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Brenda met Mark Moreno while they were both employed in Hillsboro at Texas Tech. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1980 in Elsa. Brenda was a former manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Dairy Queen, and had also worked for the Ramada Inn, all in Hillsboro. She loved to play her guitar with her husband and other family members. She also enjoyed to crochet and play canasta.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Melba Williams and Phyllis Carroll; and two nephews, Destry Shadwick and Bubba Carroll.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Moreno of Peoria; son, Ronnie Joe Williford and wife, Leann, of Peoria; two sisters, Mary DelMonte and husband, Peter, of Irving and Gloria Shadwick of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Eddie Carroll, of Hillsboro; grandson, Dakota Joe Williford of Peoria; three nephews, Bryan Mitchell of Denton, Wayne Shadwick of Chattona, Tennessee, and Bryan DelMonte of Irving; niece, Heather Dowing of Waco; and great-niece, Zoeblu Shadwick of Chattona, Tennessee.
