Brett James Serven

Brett James Serven, age 52 of Whitney, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Justin Florence officiating.

Brett was born April 13, 1971, in Wayne, Nebraska to James and Sharon (Onderstal) Serven. He has one sister, Kristi (Serven) Warne. Brett received his High School Diploma in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Shelley Lynn Henzler on April 28, 1995, and together they had 3 children; Bryce, Brooke, and Brock; and 2 grandchildren, Gabriel and Atticus Serven. Brett was self employed for many years and spent the last 18 years in the oil field. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and go for long drives with no particular place to go, just wherever the road took us.

Brett is survived by his parents, Sharon Serven of Richmond, Minnesota and James and wife Julie Serven of Whitney; wife, Shelley Serven of Whitney; children, Bryce and wife Alexus Serven of Godley, Brooke Serven of Whitney, and Brock Serven of Whitney; grandchildren, Gabriel and Atticus Serven of Whitney; sister, Kristi and husband Pete Warne of Richmond, Minnesota; nephews, Alexander and wife Callie Warne, Nicholas Warne, Micheal Warne, and Stephen Warne all of Minnesota.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alden and wife Agnes Serven of Conrord, Nebraska, and Clarence and wife Laroyce Onderstal of Allen, Nebraska; and many aunts and uncles.
