Carl Henry Kite, 90, of Whitney, passed away on February 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Towash Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Carl was born on September 17, 1923, in Glenrock, Wyoming, to Carl and Iola (Moore) Kite. In 1942, he married Jeannette Frey. In 1964, he married Gatha Ward and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2001. For 17 years, he was a heat treater at Chicago Pneumatic (Anadite) where he worked with his brother, Jay. Carl loved bluegrass music, racing cars and motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Carl Alden Kite in 1984; and daughter-in-law Judy F. Kite.
He is survived by sons, Roy Kite of Cleburne and Douglas “Jerry” Kite of Whitney; brothers, Jay Kite and wife, Faye of Whitney and Harold Kite and wife, Elizabeth of Loveland Colorado; grandchildren, Roy Kite, Eric Kite, Chris Kite and Steffanie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Yancey Kite, Olivia Kite, Veronica Kite, Megan Whitney, Craig Kite, Amanda Mingus and Moriah Hamilton; great-great-grandchild, Jaxx Kite.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Towash Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1141, Whitney, TX 76692.
