Carlas C. Davis, 91 of Hillsboro passed away Thursday August 3, 2006 at his residence. He was born August 3, 1915, in Birome, Texas, the son of the late Joseph Clenton Davis and Annie Belle Dugger Davis. He lived in Hill County most of his life. As a young boy he grew up in many of the small farming communities of Hill and McLennan counties including Abbott, Penelope, Bynum, and West. Carlas married Marilyene Fawcett on June 21, 1939, in Hillsboro, which was the beginning of a long, happy and devoted union of 67 years. Shortly after their marriage he was called to serve his country, serving in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He was stationed in Casper, Wyoming. After completing his military service, he returned to Hillsboro where he joined his father in the ownership and running of the Davis Paint and Wallpaper Store. He ran and operated the paint store until his retirement in 1985. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Hillsboro, serving in many positions of leadership in the church. He also was active in the Kiwanis Club for many years. Survivors include his wife, Marilyene Davis; one daughter, Sharon Keas and husband, Gary, of Woodbury; one son, Dr. Larry Davis and wife, Teresa, of Waco. Four grandchildren, Kim Graham and husband, Johnny, of Woodbury, Darian Keas of Woodbury, Brandon Davis and wife, Amy, of Dallas, and Jessica Jacobs and husband, Robert, of Schertz, TX; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany Graham of Woodbury and Blythe Jacobs of Schertz, TX. He is also survived by one sister, Carmen London and husband, Melvin, of Granbury, TX. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
