Carole June Landon

Carole June Landon of Whitney, TX, age 81, passed away on January 23, 2025 in Clifton, Texas at Lutheran Sunset Ministries. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas. 

Carole was born in Covington, TX on June 14, 1943 to CG and Ruby (Basye) Morris. She is survived by her daughter, Sharmon Strickland (Larry) and son, Troy Marbut (Melissa). In addition, she is survived by three stepchildren: Donna Clark (Dan), Jeff Landon (Carlissa), and Markle Landon (Joanna). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Brent Marbut (Amanda), Christopher Marbut (Deanna), Chelsea Strickland, Sarah Vaughn (Michael), Sharla Henderson (Bill), Brandon Clark (Gabby), Katelyn Estes (Blake), Ashton Landon (Maddison), Cameron Landon (Taylor), and Colton Landon. The surviving family also includes: 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; her brother, Dale Morris (Joyce); sister-in-law, Janice Morris; and numerous other loving relatives.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Landon; and her brothers Garner Scott, Billy Morris, and Jimmy Dan Morris. In addition, she was predeceased by nephew, Todd Scott; niece, Kristi Morris Baber; and great grandson, Bo Vaughn.
