Carolyn Sue (Wilburn) Wells

Carolyn Sue Wells, age 83, of Hillsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 26, 2021 at Providence Hospital. Private graveside services will be Monday February 1, 2021 with Rev. Darrel Beggs of Central Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Wells will lie in state from 9:00 to 12:00 on Monday February 1, 2021 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Facial Masks and social distancing are required.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Hillsboro, Texas to Horace and Thelma Wilburn. She graduated from Hillsboro High School. She married the love of her life J.D. Wells in Hillsboro on July 14, 1957. She worked at Hill Regional Hospital until her retirement. She then worked at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home and Visiting Angels. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She loved to travel, play cards, dominoes and board games with her friends. She loved to go to Colorado and Opryland on vacations. She was a friend to everyone and will be missed by her family and friends.

Sue is survived by her son, James and wife, Cindy, Michael Wells and daughter-in-law, Sharlyn Wells,; grandchildren,  Jameson, Nicholas and wife, Lauren, Christopher and wife, Daniel, and Amanda and husband, Justin; and great grandchildren Asher, Angel, Aden, Elliot and Aslynn.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Horace and Thelma Wilburn; and her husband, J.D.  Wells on July 15, 2003.
