Catherine E. (Walker) Schaffer

Catherine E. Schaffer, 90, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, in Hillsboro.  Catherine was born August 30, 1931, in Osceola, Texas, to Thomas and Tammer (Diggs) Walker.  Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to noon, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, with a private graveside service at 2:00 pm.

Catherine grew up in the Vaughan Community, then married Edwin Schaffer on March 3, 1949.  She and Edwin enjoyed sixty-six years together until his death August 14, 2015.  Catherine was a full-time housewife, mother, and excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant daughter, Sandra Louise; her son, Michael; her brothers, Jimmy Walker, and Tommy Walker; and her sisters, Maggie McCasland, and Ellen Hunt.  Catherine is survived by her children, Thomas Schaffer and his wife Carolyn, Larry Schaffer, Jerry Schaffer and his wife Bea, Cathy Neyhard and her husband David, Cindy Glenn and her husband, Roger, and Jimmy Schaffer; her grandchildren, James Schaffer, Jacque Schaffer and Kenny Hubbard, Teri Reeves and her husband Scott, Angela Glenn, Roger Glenn, Jr. and his wife Julie, Amy Kuziarek and her husband Kyle, David Neyhard and his wife Kristel, Melissa Lott and her husband Chris, Amanda Bitterman and her husband Earl, Jennifer Schaffer,  Shane Schaffer and his wife Jennifer, Chad Schaffer and his wife Maranda, Christopher Schaffer, and Michael Schaffer, Jr.; seventeen great-grandchildren; her brother Bobby walker; her sister Mary Lou Runkel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
