Cecil Tanner

Cecil Wayne Tanner, 70, of Whitney passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, at his residence. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Interment of his cremains will be at a later date at Prairie Grove “Greenie” Cemetery near Aquilla.

Cecil was born on October 15, 1946 in Waco to F.A. and Louise (Kirkpatrick)Tanner. On June 25, 1965, he was united in marriage to Alma Rose Sullins. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1998.

Cecil currently worked as a truck driver for J and C Construction, where he had been employed for the past 20 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his brother. He also enjoyed fishing and all types of car racing. He was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Barbara Tanner.

Cecil is survived by his brother, Ricky Tanner and wife, Daphne, and several nieces and nephews.
