Chadwick Preston Pennington

Chadwick Preston Pennington passed away on August 7, 2022, at age 35. Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home, 2495 Corsicana Hwy, Hillsboro, TX 76645. Memorial service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, August 20, 2022, also at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Home. Graveside will follow at Turner Cemetery, 4987 FM 934 E. Itasca, Texas 76055 with Pastor Joshua West officiating.

Though his life here was brief, he touched the hearts of many people that will feel his absence forever. His sense of humor, integrity, work ethic and eagerness to always help will be missed.

Chad was born to Bobby Don and Patricia Gail Grothe Pennington on May 24, 1987, in Borger, TX. Chad spent his childhood with his devoted grandmother Linda Pennington, lovingly known to him, as well as all the area kids, as Momo. As a child, he loved sports or anything active, and spent most of his time outdoors with his brother, sister, cousins and friends. He loved the family pets, both dogs and cats, although he liked to refer to the cats as “allergy machines.”  He always had a way with animals – they always took a liking to him and he to them. Chad spent several summers working on his great-uncle’s ranch, among other summer jobs, and later became a talented carpenter that could tackle any remodel or other project around. He was never afraid of demanding work. Chad went to Sanford-Fritch High School and subsequently to Tarrant County College.

Chad married the love of his life Erin in 2021, and together they have a beautiful daughter, Ava. He is also adoring father to Luke, and stepfather to Brieana, Kailey, and Andrew. Chad was a devoted husband, father, grandson, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.

Chad held an unwavering faith in God. He accomplished a profound knowledge of the Bible in his short journey through this life and loved sharing the love and warmth of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible.

Chad is preceded in death by his father Bobby Pennington and mother Patricia King. He is survived by his wife Erin, daughter Ava, son Luke, step-children Brieana Lemmon, Kailey Sherman, and Andrew Zapata, grandmother Linda Pennington, grandfather Bobby Pennington, brothers Bobby (Sarah) Pennington and Joshua (Kiara) West, sisters Amy Pennington, April (Patrick) Godfrey, Candace Broussard and Tarah (Joshua) Taylor, aunts Pam Stroup and Krystal (Bob) Jackson, step-father Ernie King, nephews Bodie, Hayes, and Nash Pennington, Aalijah Pennington, CJ Smith, nieces Aaliyah Ricks and Ca’laiya Smith, and a host of other loved ones including cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Bobby Pennington, Joshua West, Ernie King, Josh Whitley, Dallas Crowdis and Jeffrey Delaney. Honorary pallbearers are Luke Pennington, Andrew Zapata, Bodie Pennington, Hayes Pennington, Aalijah Pennington and AD Cruz.
