Biography

Charles “Charlie” Bone passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2013 after a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, Texas. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at the funeral home.

Charlie was born to Mildred and John Bone on February 10, 1938 at Tater Hill (near Waco), Texas. He married Jeanette Stanford in College Station, Texas on November 28, 1956. They made their home in Waco before moving to Hillsboro in 1965. Charlie graduated high school at Midway and attended Texas A & M. He was a charter member of Midway Baptist Church and at the present time was a member of Peoria Baptist Church.

He worked as electrician for the City of Waco, Certainteed Products, and General Tire. He retired from Hoot Johnson Construction Company where he built rural water plants. He was an avid Coon Hunter and a talented knife builder. People from several states carry his beautiful knives. He was a skilled horseman and in his early years he rode bareback horses in rodeos.

Charlie was welcomed into heaven by his beloved son David, his parents and his sisters; Billie Ruth Bone and Mary Scoggins; his best friend James “Hoot” Johnson and his faithful Coon Hound, Radar.

He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette; one brother, Joe and wife,Cathy Bone of Hewitt; daughters Bobbie and husband John Sasso of Newport, Rhode Island, Beverly and husband, Terry Neden of Richardson, Texas, Msgt. Diane Bone of Dayton, Ohio, and Linda Bone of Huntsville, Texas; five grandchildren, Cody and Melissa Bledsoe of Robinson, Jedediah and Jenifer Bone of Huntsville, Tiffany and Matt Anzalone of Olathe, Kansas, Josiah Bone of Huntsville and Ariel Mauldin of Dallas; six great grandchildren, Lily Bledsoe, Brooklyn, Jordyn and Preston Anzalone, Lierra Mauldin, and Raylan Bone. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peoria Baptist Church at 102 PR 246, Hillsboro, Texas 76645.
