Charlie Griffith, 69, of Hillsboro was killed near Austin in a plane crash on December 19, 2006. He was the son of Charles O. and Rose Kilpatrick Griffith. Charlie grew up in Oklahoma. On October 24, 1958, he married Martha Brooks and moved to Burkburnett, Texas. He owned and operated his own tunneling contracting company since 1981. Charlie had been flying an airplane since 1963. He was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ and the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Martha of Hillsboro; children, Jay Griffith of Leon, OK, Clay Griffith of Burleson, Kevin Griffith of Burleson; brother, John Griffith of Randlett, OK; sisters, Florence Robison, Mary Frank West, Bobbie Holtson all of Burkburnett; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Roslea and K.C.
