On September 1, 2024, Charles Elvin Kiblinger, 65, of Covington, Texas, passed away at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 52024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Reverend Dr. Ryan Kiblinger of Lakeside United Methodist Church of Streetman, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, at the funeral home.
Charles was born in Cleburne, Texas, on February 11, 1959, the first born of Eldon Roy and Nancy Kiblinger. He lived in Covington for most of his life, and those who knew him well would describe him as a kind, gentle soul, with infinite patience. Charles loved his family and made it his mission in life to love and care for them. If you asked him who his best friends were, he would tell you his sister Sonya, who he always called “Baby,” and his nephews Bryce and Royce. He loved working with the cows at the “farm” but would arrange his work schedule, so he was able to deliver lunch and hot cookies to his nephews for most of their school years. “The boys” were his world and they adored their Uncle Charles, as did his great-niece Nora. He was caregiver to his father during his long battle with cancer and took on the full-time job of caring for his mother, who was a diabetic all of his life. It was due to his diligence that she was able to live 73 years as a diabetic. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington.
He is survived by sister, Sonya Lanham, and husband, Michael of Cleburne; nephews, Bryce Lanham and fiancée Dr. Ashley Sample, of Chicago, Illinois and Royce Lanham and wife Jamie, of Cleburne; great niece Nora Lanham, of Cleburne; uncle, Doke Kiblinger and wife Cindy of Arlington; and aunt, Sue Boyd, of Cleburne; cousin Christi Gray of Fayetteville, Tennessee; and numerous other cousins.
Waiting in heaven are his parents Eldon Roy and Nancy Kiblinger and grandparents Peron and Tommie Siratt.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to the Kiblinger Family Scholarship Fund, Covington ISD, 501 North Main St., Covington, TX 76636
