Biography

Charles Wallace Miller, age 71 of Whitney, passed away October 22, 2011 In Waco,Texas.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Carl Jennings officiating. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 PM Sunday evening at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Charles was born November 8, 1939 in Whitney, TX, the son of the late Vaughn Thomas and Carlos Opal (Peacock) Miller. He lived all his life in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School. After high school, Charles served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1963. He married Opal Garlington on September 4, 1965. At the age of 46, he started college and graduated from Tarleton State University with a Masters in Education. His teaching career started in Bynum and Cleburne schools, and retired in 2002 from the Whitney I.S.D. as the Jr. High Counselor. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitney.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Miller of Whitney; children: Alan Miller and wife, Heide of Celina, Amy Jourden and husband, Dubby of Temple, TX; grandchildren: Ethan, Peyton and Cerilene Miller and Whitley Jourden.
