Charles Potter

Charles Roger “PawPaw” Potter, 76, of Hillsboro went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A time together for services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Sandra Seals officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home.

Charles was born on December 20, 1941 in Ocala, Florida to Roger Kelly and Ada Marie Potter. He graduated from Paramount High School and spent his younger adult years in California. He eventually moved to Texas where he met his wife, Carol Jean, and got married on October 23. Charles was a hard-working man of many talents. As a young man he worked at the ports and in his older adult life worked in manufacturing.

Charles loved all sports, from golf to football. From an early age he began drawing and even into his last days, PawPaw enjoyed creating funny pictures for his grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou Potter; brother, Steve Potter; and daughter, Yvette Baltazar.

Charles is survived by his wife, Carol of Hillsboro; sons, Kevin Wilkinson of Hillsboro and Chuck Potter and wife, Iris, of Florida; daughters, Sarah Myers and husband, James, of Waco, Rachel Raymond and husband, Nick, of Hillsboro, Yvonne Potter of California, and Brandy Figueroa of California; brothers, Dan DeRosier and wife, Cindy, of California, Charles DeRosier and wife, Erin, of California; sister, Ruth Marie Gaul and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Zoey, Cooper, Emri, Beret, Brittany, Adrian, Daniel, Raquel, and Joshua; and great grandchildren, Arilelle, Manuel, and Ava.
