Charles was born on June 12, 1928 in San Saba, Texas to Jim and Minnie Crim Sutton. Growing up, he attended school in Waco. On June 14, 1947, he married Onetta Machen in Milford, Texas, and they were able to celebrate 57 years together this past June. Charles worked for the Ashland Chemical Company before later joining NGO Chemical. He retired from NGO in 1993 after 15 years with the firm. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Hillsboro. Active in the community, Charles served as a volunteer fireman and also was a member of the Emergency Corps while living in Baytown, Texas. He was a member of the College Hill Church of Christ in Hillsboro. Survivors include his wife, Onetta Sutton of Hillsboro; daughter, Dianna Hopper and husband, James, of Irving; son, Tim Sutton and wife, Laura, of Denton; Two sisters, Betty Churchwell and husband, Wylie, of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Glenda Partridge and husband, Jerry, of Arlington, Texas. Also, five grandchildren, Lauren, Abby, and Meredith Sutton of Denton, Jason Hopper of Dallas, and Carrie King and husband, Scott, of Dallas; and one great granddaughter, Olivia King of Dallas.
