Charles Sherman Watson, 71, of Whitney passed away Friday afternoon March 6, 2015, at Greenview Manor in Waco.
Charles was born to George Sherman and Catherine (Davis) Watson on August 15, 1943 in Hillsboro. During Viet Nam, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Okinawa. For a number of years, he managed apartments in Houston and Dallas. He also later worked for Sims Heating and Air Conditioning in Whitney as a service technician.
Very young at heart, Charles was an active member of the Whitney Area Miniature Aircraft Club, as well as the Academy of Model Aeronautics. He derived great pleasure from building and flying model planes. His other pursuits included fishing, restoring his home and riding his Harley. Charles was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Glenda McPherson and Katherine Wallace; and a brother-in-law, Claude Clinard. He is survived by his sister, Norma Brown and husband, Tony, of Hillsboro; brother, Marty Watson of Whitney; two brothers-in-law, Gary Wallace of Whitney and Bob McPherson of West; along with several nieces and nephews.
