Charles V. Williams, 91, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Bellmead. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Brother C. M. Huff officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Charles was born February 22, 1921 in Dallas County to Charlie Vester and Lona Bell (Barnes) Williams. He grew up and lived most of his life in Hillsboro. On October 3, 1942, he married Charlene Cagle and they were married for 70 years. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army Air Force.

After his service in the military, Charles came back to Hillsboro and painted houses before going to work for Piggly Wiggly for 20 years. He later went to work for Sparten Copper for 10 years. Around age 80, he went to work for Brookshire’s Grocery in Hillsboro.

Charles had a very strong work ethic. He liked to barbeque, fish, and work on cars. He also liked to do carpentry work and actually built his own home. He was of the Nazarene faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Donald Ray Williams on October 9, 2012; and two sisters, Dorothy Ward and Margaret Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Williams of Hillsboro; three children, Brenda James and husband, Douglas, of Waco, Ronnie Williams and wife, Joyce, of Streetman, and Randy Williams of Hillsboro; sister, Helen McIntire of Fort Worth; brother-in-law, James T. Cagle of Hillsboro; two sisters-in-law, Edith Rice of Fort Worth and Aletha Cagle of Dennison; 5 grandchildren, Angela Hosman and husband, Eric, of Florence, Kevin Williams and wife, Michelle, of Arlington, Kim Brown of Corsicana, Julie Williams of Arlington, and Charles Craig Williams of Hillsboro; 6 great-grandchildren, Mark Douglas Edwards of Florence, Amanda Edwards of Belton, Cole Williams of Arlington, Justin Brown of Corsicana, Jarred Brown of Corsicana, and Lynsey Williams of Arlington; 2 great-great grandchildren, Jayden Brown of Corsicana and Madison Taylor Edwards of Florence; and several nieces and nephews.
