Biography

Charlie Lawrence, 56, of Dallas passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Dallas Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to service time at the funeral home.

Born September 1, 1960 in Waco, Charlie was the son of Bobby Lynn and Mary Yvonne (Irvin) Lawrence. He grew up in the Dallas area and lived there most of his life. A graduate of Lake Highlands High School, he went on to attend Texas A&M University. Shortly after college, Charlie entered the food and grocery industry. For more than 15 years, he had worked for Kroger. He enjoyed anything science fiction, especially Star Wars and Star Trek.

Charlie was looking forward to walking his daughter, Lauren, down the aisle on June 10, 2017. His world revolved around her.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors include his mother, Yvonne Irvin Lawrence of Dallas; daughter, Lauren Marie Lawrence and fiancé, Kyle McGrain, of Dallas; and several aunts and uncles including, Dell Irvin, of Hillsboro.
