Chester Mac McKibben, 90, of Whitney passed away on Oct. 7, 2008 in Whitney. He was born July 27, 1918 in Nowata, OK.to Stanley and Jenny Parrot McKibben. On Oct. 2, 1943, he married Ruby June Stubblefield and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2008. During his time in the United States Army, he was a horse shoer and blacksmith for the Calvary in Burma. He liked polka music, watching his big screen television and loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, working with cattle and ranching. He was a very good story teller and delighted telling that he knew Poncha Villa. He was of the Nazarene faith and a member of the American Legion Post #522. Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Douglas McKibben; grandson, Michael McKibben; brothers, Everett and Cliff; sisters, Ruth, Edna and Della. Survivors: children, Dona Luna of Arlington, Stan McKibben and wife, Kathy, Sharon Hively all of Whitney; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
