Biography

Chip “CJ” Chambers, Jr., 15, of Itasca passed away Monday, July 17, 2012, near Itasca. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Cowboy Way Church in Alvarado with it’s Pastor Dan Haby, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Chip Lee Chambers Jr., born January 16, 1997, lovingly known to his family as CJ, was a sophomore at Grandview High School. His passion was bronc riding. He was dedicated and accomplished and very proud of a buckle he won in 2011 at a rodeo through Trails to Recovery Church. CJ loved to dance and he loved the girls. He never met a stranger and never failed to spot the prettiest girl in a crowd.

If you didn't know him personally, you knew who he was. If you didn't know his name, he definitely knew yours. If you didn't know how to laugh, he'd show you. If you didn't know what kind of tractor that was, he'd tell you make, model, year, tire size and function. Never straying away from his cowboy hat, Hurley shirt, buckle and jeans, he made an impact on everyone he met in some way or another. And if you knew him like his family did, you all knew he really wanted EVERYBODY to know that...."SHE" thinks his tractor's sexy.

CJ loved the Lord and he knew just how great HIS God was! He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 9 years old. He made the personal decision to re-dedicate his life 2 weeks ago. CJ knew that God always "rode" with him and that his Angels were never a whisper away.

CJ was preceded in death by great-grandparents Katie Moore, Bea Dettre, Cecelia Ortiz, Dorothy Ellis.

Survivors include his mother, Michelle Cecilia Crummett; father and step-mother, Chip Lee, Sr. and DeeAnn Chambers; brother, Garrett Chambers; sister, Marissa Chambers; maternal grandparents, Tom and Almeda Dettre and Louis and Lola Arce’; paternal grandparents, Duane, Sr. and Barbara Chambers; honorary grandparents, Joe and Judy Crumpacker; uncles and aunts, Roger Arce’, Scott and Libby Chambers, Amy Chambers Anderson, Duane, Jr. (Scooter) and Samantha Chambers; and 8 cousins, Aaron, Cameron, Taylor, Courtney, Tyler, Austin, Aiden, and "Newly-expected" Baby Chambers.
