Christine Herbert

Christine Herbert, age 69 of Whitney, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Chris was born in Logan, Utah. She was the second of seven children. She had fond memories of growing up in Utah surrounded by extended family. In high school, her family moved to New Orleans where she graduated from high school.

Chris’s passion was her family. She had seven children and loved to take them on adventures. She was known by all the kids that came around as “mom”. Many never knew her name but knew that she was always there for them. There was always a house full of kids at mom’s house. She was the “cool” parent that listened to the Beasties Boys and knew how to break dance. As the kids grew and moved on, she found a new love and that was her grandchildren. She always had an ear for them, a hug or homemade goodie. She was known as the human google to them all. She dearly loved all of them. But her true love and partner in crime, she met in 2003.  Mike Young was the love of her life! They had many adventures and traveled the world together. She finally had a travel partner of her own.  They are together again finishing up their travel plans.

Chris always had a project of some kind going on or in the works. She loved to garden, sew and read. There was nothing that she couldn’t do. Over the years she has remodeled many homes and even a business. She loved to bring the old back to life. She is a graduate of Navarro College and encouraged all her grandchildren to do the same.

Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Alan Young; and mother, Ann Ramsay.

She is survived by their 9 children, Robyn and Shamar Brown of Arlington, Megann and Clint Bristow of Whitney, Joshua and Janeen Eldredge of Buckeye, AZ, Kerry Eldredge of Penn Valley, CA, Shane Eldredge of Whitney, Kurt Eldredge of Spanish Fork, UT, and Nichole and Robert Chesser of Waxahachie; 33 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Chris was an amazing mom, grandma, and friend. She will be missed greatly!
