Clara Goates

Clara Mae Dollins Goates, 91, of Waco formerly of Whitney passed away on Septembe 20, 2004 in Waco. Cara was born on November 29, 1912 in Gholson to Joseph and Clara Joines Dollins. She married William Riley Goates Jr. on August 19, 1934 in West. She and Riley raised their family in Gholson and moved to Lake Whitney to spend their retirement years. She was devoted to and loved her family above all esle and delighted all that knew her with her music. She was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Fannie Killion, Vesterine Smith; brother, Raymond Dollins; granddaughter, Leah Goates and daughter-in-laws, Susan Kay Fowler Goates and Linda Lou Tepe Goates. Survivors include Riley Joe Goates of Gholson, Danny Lee Goates of Gholson, Barbara Tennison and husband, Bill of Woodway; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchldren.
