Clarence Swinscoe

Clarence Swinscoe, age 94, of Whitney passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Prairie Valley Cemetery in Whitney.  Rev. Eddie Booth will be officiating.  Mr. Swinscoe will lie in state from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Wednesday December 9, 2020, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Clarence was born on October, 22, 1925, in Waco to Walter and Carrie (Braun) Swinscoe

He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII.  He was on the first aircraft carrier to have aircraft that flew night flights during the war. After his service, he came back to Hillsboro to open an office supply sales and service business.  He had traveled to every state in the continental United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Evers Swinscoe and Carrie Swinscoe.

Survivors include his step-sons, Grady Swinscoe and wife, Marie, Larry Swinscoe, Elmer E. (Buster) Swinscoe, Jr.; daughters, Kathy Venable and husband, Clyde (Richard), and Janita Johnson; sister, Elsie Reddell; niece, Mary Alla Ballew and husband, Walton; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
