Claude Waller


Claude Raymond Waller passed away October 11, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the son of Calvin Earl and Iona Florence Stark Waller. On Aug. 1, 1936, he married Margaret Belle Baker in Blum, Texas. They were married 70 years. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2006. During World War II, Claude served in the U. S. Navy on carrier USS Boxer. He operated Hillsboro Auto Clinic on Elm street in Hillsboro for many years. Claude was a real people person and loved to talk to them and tell them stories and experiences from all through his life. He liked to help others and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He was loved and admired by many people. Claude never gained wealth or fame but he did have a good name and a good reputation. He was truly a good man and he will be missed. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal of Hillsboro. Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Homer David Waller, Calvin Fred Waller; sisters, Amy Lee Baker, Belle Irene Baker, Minnie Lou Waller, and Willie Mae Waller. Survivors include his children, Betty Waller of Whitney, Mark R. Waller and wife, Carolyn of Bedford, Calvin M. Waller and wife, Margaret of Clifton, Elizabeth Jones and husband, Nathanael of Watauga, Pamela A. Duncan and husband, Ray of Hillsboro; sisters, Viola Arnett of Crockett, Linda Whalen of Acampo, CA.; brother, Larry Waller of Escondido, CA; sister-in-law, Susie Baker of Whitney; cousins, William Allen and wife, Esterelle of Clifton, Eleanor Allen of Waco, Gladys Sills of Fort Worth; friend of many years, Homer Cox of Cleburne; 11 grandchildren, Sherrie, Calvin, Barbara, Raymond, Ronald, Christopher, April, Julie, Nathan, Margaret Ann and Amber; 5 grandsons-in-law, James, Craig, Jerome, Joshua, Garrett; 3 granddaughters-in-law, Brenda, Karen, Courtney;12 great grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Taylor, Tyler, Cody, Mark Aaron, Cameron, Bryant, Ronna, Alicia, Hannah Kate, Brenden and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
