Clifford H. Buck Johnston, 96 of Whitney passed away on August 11, 2010 at Park Plaza Nursing Home. He was born on June 28, 1914 in Valdosta, GA.; the son of the late Charlie and Minnie Layton Johnston. He was raised in Arcadia, FL where he later became partners with his brother in a dry cleaning business. After serving in the Army during World War II, he moved to Texas. Buck was a Bordens milkman in Midland for 22 years until his retirement in 1976 and moving to Whitney in1978. He loved the Texas Rangers, oyster stew and especially dining at Sisters Diner. He was a member of the American Legion Post #522 in Whitney. Buck was also preceded in death by 8 siblings and a great granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Johnston. Survivors include his children, Gary Johnston and wife, Judy of Fort Worth, Mickey Johnston wife Kathy of Buffalo; 7 grandchildren, Clifford Ray Johnston, Michelle Lofton, Shelby Johnston, Jeffrey Johnston, Christopher Meuse, Kristina Meuse, Jeffrey Meuse; 8 great grandchildren, Colton Johnston, Travis Johnston, Michael Lofton, Sammy Lofton, Jaden Meuse, Aaron Meuse, Olivia Chancer and Damion Alexander.
