Climmie Neumann

Climmie Neumann, 94, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Climmie was born November 13, 1917 in Runge, TX to Fred Robert and Selma (Schroller) Helmers. She grew up in South Texas and attended school in Nordheim. On January 5, 1939, she married Edvin Herman Neumann and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1990. Following marriage, the couple lived in Yorktown. They moved to Cuero in 1953 and then to Hillsboro in 1966 to work at the cotton mill.

Cooking and tending her flower beds is what Climmie loved doing most. She was an enthusiastic domino player, playing both 42 and chicken foot. For a number of years she worked for Woods of Texas, Rose Marie, and Maloufs. In her later years, she also worked as a Granny at Grandy’s, passing out rolls until retiring at age 80. Climmie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and a Charter member of the Town Hall Estates Optimist Club.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Roberta Stratmann and Gladys Schroeder.

Survivors include her three children, Doris Ann Flowers and husband, Tom, of Round Rock, Gaylon Ray Neumann and wife, Rita, of Duncanville, and Rita Lynn Patton of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Don Flowers, Dana Perry, David Neumann, Brian Neumann, Jason Neumann, and Alex Patton; eight great-grandchildren, Raedell Perry, Xan Neumann, Isaac Neumann, Daniel Neumann, Jack Neumann, Mark Neumann, Kevin Mulherin, and Callie Clayton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
