Clyde Hudspeth, 78, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Westview Manor in McGregor. Clyde was born September 18, 1930 in Aquilla the son of Clyde and Mary Jewel Wills Hudspeth. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He married Callie Oletha Erwin and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2006. A former member of College Hill Church of Christ, Clyde maintained many friendships of fellow Christians of many denominations. He was a very active and faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church in Hillsboro and was a member of Woodman of the World. One thing he enjoyed most was listening to country music legends, especially Bob Wills. Also preceded him in death were his parents and a loving niece, Barbara Attaway. Survivors include his sister, Geraldine Jones and husband, Alton K., of Robinson; niece, Paula Hoover of Waco; two great-nephews and their families, William Attaway, wife, Shirley, and son, Justin; and Eric Attaway and son, Ian, all of Robinson; other loving family members including, Alton Easton and wife, Di; and Gene Attaway and wife, Pattie; friends who he considered as family, Otho Lee Boyd, Oddis Dale Sharp, Lillion Ebaugh, John Erwin, and Elvis Thompson; other caring friends including, Stacey Smith, members of the his church, and his pastor Rev. Clay Strawn; and other supportive members of the community. Memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church, P. O. Box 694, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
