Clyde Leathers

Dale Leathers, 82, of Clifton passed away at his home on May 11, 1006. He was the son of Ralph and Pearl Leathers. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On Dec. 20, 1951, he married Hazel Dale Kerr and she preceded him in death on June 16, 1979. He married Barbara Valentine on Jan. 15, 1983. In 1982 he retired from Dow Chemical Co. Prior to moving to Whitney in July 2000 he resided in Conroe. He was a honorary member of Lake Whitney Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Helen Minnick and Ruby May Leathers; two brothers, George Russell Leathers and Howard Burrell Leathers. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Leathers; children, Don Leathers and wife, Darlene of Hughes Springs; Leesa Dale Hyder and husband, Eddy of The Woodlands; step-children: Jerry McDowell and wife Jessica of Graham, Raymond Valentine of Hugo, OK, Linda Booker of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Opal Leach of Norris City, IL; grandchildren, Brandy and Brandon Leathers, Jason and Jed Hyder; step grandchildren, Steele Valentine, Maddox Valentine, Alina Valentine, Raine Valentine, Mandy Valentine, Michelle Barrand; 4 step great grandchildren; niece, Janet McGee and husband, Jim.
