Clyde Wesley Maass, 79, of Irene passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Hillcrest Scott & White Hospital in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Malone with Rev. Mandy Brobst-Renaud officiating. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery in Malone. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Born July 20, 1935 in Malone, he was the son of Herman and Irene (Groppe) Maass. A one of a kind person, Clyde enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger. Going to the cattle auction in Hubbard with his many friends and acquaintances was one of his favorite pastimes. An avid vintage farm equipment collector, he also liked to trade vehicles, animals, tractors, and farm equipment. Clyde had an ability to discuss all types of topics from politics to cows. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Malone.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Margie Morgan Day, and brother, Pete Maass.
Survivors include two sons, Buck Maass of Irving and Jon Maass of Austin; three sisters, Janice Pierce and husband, Billy Don, of West, Sue McGirk and husband, Dick, of Fort Worth, and Angela Steinkamp and husband, Rick, of Crawford; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family will be served lunch at Noon on Sunday, prior to the funeral service, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
