Cole Curtis Pearce, 74, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 after a courageous and long battle with his health..
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Linda Bilton officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m., Monday prior to the service.
Cole was born on January 18, 1938 in Dallas to Joe and Mary Cavender Pearce. He married Betty A. Record on July 2, 1960 in Denton, Texas. During his four year tour of duty in the United States Navy, he worked in boiler and engine rooms on the USS Intrepid and the USS Aldebaran. . Many knew him for his carpenter work, paint and bodywork and yes, even his restaurant era. It might be said that he worked and played hard back in the day. He did work hard most of his life and was still giving it his all this past year. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Doris Muccley and Lorraine Klenic; 2 brothers, Geral Pearce and Gordon LaRue.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Whitney; son, Alton L. Pearce and wife, Donna of McKinney; brother, David Pearce and wife, Brenda of Valley View; sister, Judy Medina and husband, Richard of Valley View; grandson, Adam Pearce of McKinney; great granddaughter, Harlee Pearce of McKinney and several nieces and nephews.
