Colin Buren

Colin was born September 3, 1987 in Midland, Texas. He fought a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis and after years of being cared for at Cook Childrens Medical Center in Fort Worth, died February 10, 2004 at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas. Bringing laughter and love to all who knew him, he showed us all the true meaning of courage. He will be missed and remembered by anyone who knew him. Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Maxine "Granny" Mitchell. Survivors include his mother, Marla Buren of Whitney; a sister, Megan Sessums her husband, Brian, and his nephews, Brian, Ethan, and Chad, all of Whitney; a brother, Jon Buren of Brooklyn, NY; his angel and soulmate, Lizzy Hawkins of Bridgeport; his grandfather, Hayes Mithchell and wife, Julie, of Marfa; a great-grandmother, Anita Oliver of San Angelo; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; and friends.
