Consuelo M Abrego

Consuelo M. Abrego, age 91, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.  at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Juan Escalante and Pastor Juan Abrego officiating. A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020, with Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Consuelo was born September 5, 1928 in Charco, Texas to Pablo and Guadalupe (Perez) Montes.  Consuelo was very honest and said what you needed to hear but loved with her whole heart and gave the best advice.  When visiting Consuelo's home you never left her house hungry, and after a visit with Wela, you left with Honesty and feeling loved. She loved doing puzzles, making quilts, and singing.  Consuelo was a faithful and active member of the Kingdom Life Church for the past 5 years, where she served in many roles was an active prayer warrior.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the medical staff at Shannon Medical Center for loving and caring for our Wela in a time when we couldn’t be there.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Mauricio Abrego in 1983 and son, Joe Abrego in September 2010.

She is survived by her children, Mauricio Abrego, Jr. and wife, Rebeca of Hillsboro, Manuel Abrego and wife, Sally of Hillsboro, Robert Abrego and wife, Josefina of Hillsboro, Aurora Escalante and husband, Juan of San Angelo, Macrina Abrego of Hillsboro, Juan Abrego and wife, Celine of Whitney and Angie Noyola of Whitney; brother, Alfredo Montes and wife, Adela of Whitney; 52 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
