Consuelo Aleman

Consuelo C. Aleman, 77, of Hillsboro died Monday, January 19, 2009, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Consuelo was born April 21, 1931 in Corpus Christi, Texas the daughter of Pedro and Aurelia DeLeon Cortinas. She grew up around Robstown and Corpus Christi. On August 31, 1949 she married Gabriel G. Aleman in Robstown. After a few years, they settled in Austin for 35 years until moving to Hillsboro in 1996. She was a member of the VFW Post 8787 Auxiliary in Austin and was of the Catholic faith. Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Gabriel Aleman, Jr.; a brother, Pete Cortinas; and a sister, Mary Rodrigues. Survivors include her husband, Gabriel G. Aleman of Hillsboro; three children, Hilda Weise and husband, John, of Hillsboro, Mary Keene and husband, Walter, of Baytown, and Armando Aleman of Georgetown; two brothers, Vicente Cortinas and Joe Cortinas both of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Manny Schmidt of Carrollton and Inez Vela of Robstown; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters-in-law including, Rudy and Virginia Aleman of Corpus Christi.
