Coylene (Mitchell) Emery

Coylene Mitchell Emery of Grandview, Texas, entered Heaven’s gates on February 24, 2022. She was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on June 25, 1942, to Coy Clayton and Vera (Hinton) Mitchell. Visitation will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Chambers Creek Baptist Church in Grandview, Texas, with Dr. Tim Marrow and Rev. Michael Lehnhardt officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the Grandview Cemetery.

A longtime resident of Grandview, Mrs. Emery excelled as a homemaker and educator. She was married to David Ross “Buck” Emery of Silver Lake, Oregon, in October of 1967. Together they had two sons, Damon Ross and Frank Adam while celebrating 48 years of marriage. Mrs. Emery retired from the Johnson County Special Cooperative associated with Johnson County Public Schools while devoting her entire married life to her family. She was a member of Chambers Creek Baptist Church, and she loved to converse, laugh, and share her faith about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was loved by her family and many friends in Grandview and throughout Johnson County.

Mrs. Emery is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buck; her sisters, Lou Ann, Bert, and Billie; and her brother, Clayton. Survivors include her two sons Damon Ross and wife Stephanie, Frank Adam, and wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Dustin Ross and wife Jaclyn, Coy Dylan, Caden Russ, Cal Brayden; and great-grandchild, Daxtyn Ross.
