Curtis C. Grayson, 82, of Hillsboro died Monday, December 10, 2007, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Curtis was born January 30, 1925 in Childress County, Texas the son of Jackson Rufus and Mary Rose Embrey Grayson. He grew up in Italy, Texas and graduated from Italy High School. From 1943-1946 he served his country in the United States Army. On July 13, 1946 he married Frances Jane Wiles. In 1955 they moved to Itasca where he owned the Chevrolet dealership. In 1963 he became co-owner and built the Itasca Nursing Home. In 1969 he built Hill Haven Nursing Home in Hillsboro and bought Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney. Curtis retired in 1981 to enjoy his hobby of raising and training horses and lending a helping hand to his friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, lifetime member of American Legion, former member of Lions Club in Itasca. For a number of years he served on the Itasca City Council and also served on the Hill County Appraisal District Board. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Jane Grayson of Hillsboro; children, Dudley Grayson and wife, Jan, of Hillsboro and Rosemary Lee and husband, Jim, of Hillsboro; sister, Nadine Carroll of Irving; grandchildren, Clay Grayson and wife, Laura, of Alvarado, Kim Bowling and husband, Mark, of Abbott, Stephanie Macon of Aubrey, and Steven Macon and wife, Gloria, of Waxahachie; and six great-grandchildren.
