Curtis Rowe, 79, of Arlington passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Nathan Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at the funeral home.
Born August 28, 1937 in Whitney, Curtis was the son of Buster and Evelyn Nell (Baker) Rowe. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959 during the Korean War. Prior to opening up his own business, he worked for Texas Instruments and Lockheed Martin. For over 30 years he owned and operated Southwest Precision Optics and had contracts with NASA and the United States Armed Forces. In his spare time, Curtis enjoyed ranching, tending to his cattle, and tinkering with antique cars and tractors. He loved his family very much.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother-in-law, Kenneth Frailicks.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Rowe of Arlington; son, Steve Rowe and wife, Michelle, of Arlington; step-children, Charles and Troy Carpenter, both of Arlington; sister, Celia Joyce Rowe Frailicks of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, Nathan James Rowe of Fort Worth, Amanda Christine Rowe and Devan Patrick Brandt of Fredericksburg, and Buster James Rowe of Arlington; and great-granddaughter, Nayely Kai Brandt of Fredericksburg.
