Curtis Edwin Wills, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018, at Oak Bend Medical Facility in Richmond, TX as a result of medical complications. Private family services will be held.
Born January 5, 1941, in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of Leo Curtis (Shine) Wills and Elizabeth Buchanan Wills. In his youth, Curtis lived in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. He went on to further his education at Navarro Jr. College, Sam Houston State University, and North Texas University, where he received his doctorate in psychology and practiced as a psychologist from 1970-2011 in Beaumont. Curtis later worked in Houston until 2015, when he retired due to declining health. He also was retired from Lamar University where he taught in the graduate counseling program for many years. He was a member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his parents and daughter, Tracy Elizabeth Wills.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Carolyn Hryhorchuk Wills; son, James Wills; stepsons, Joe Romero and Brad Durant; brother, Bruce Wills (Ann); sister, Debra Mock; and nieces and nephews, Lorie Wills Davis, Brett A. Baker, and Carly L. Baker.
