Dale Butler

Dale Veon (Armstrong) Butler, 98, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria, Texas, with Pastor Levin Ainsworth officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro.

She was born in Borger, Texas on February 19, 1927, to Arthur Cody and Sallie (Wiley) Armstrong. Dale lived in Evant and Waco until moving to Dallas during high school. She graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas. Dale was married to George William Buzan until 1961. She married Joe Henry Butler in 1966, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2017.

Dale was an avid quilter and was very active in the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was of the Methodist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sallie Armstrong; her husbands, George William Buzan and Joe Henry Butler; and four sisters, Clara Gerbes, Catherine Arnold, Dorothy Bashear, and Georgia Baker. Dale is survived by her sons, Michael Lynn Buzan and Jerry Glen Buzan; and two granddaughters, Erin Rachel Buzan and Danielle Marie Crawford.
